About this event

BioLab Lisboa is hosting the TEASIGN Workshop Series, a set of workshops exploring the intersection of biodesign, microbiology, biotechnology, biomaterials, and more-than-human design.

Across multiple sessions from April to June, participants are invited to slow down and engage in practices of observation and contemplation — fundamental steps of the scientific method that are often overlooked. Through interaction with living materials and “biodesign probes” (such as photographs and biomaterials), these sessions foster a more critical, sensory, and reflective approach to working with biological systems.

Workshops take place in small groups, encouraging exchange between participants from different backgrounds, including students, researchers, designers, and anyone interested in the intersection of biology and design.

The series is led by Dr. Cristiano Pedroso-Roussado (Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon / ITI-LARSyS), whose research focuses on biodesign and critical approaches to working with living materials.

--------
