About this event

We’re back with Session #4 of the Vibe Coding Club, the series for the “non-technical” tech crowd: product managers, designers, GTM specialists, founders, and all the creatively curious minds who want to build using AI.

This time, we welcome Dick Hardt, a true pioneer of the internet age and identity space. From founding ActiveState during the early days of open source, to leading the Identity 2.0 movement with Sxip, and shaping authentication standards like OpenID and OAuth, Dick has been at the forefront of how we connect and trust online.

After influential roles at Microsoft and Amazon, he’s now in Lisbon building Hellō, a new take on user identity. With decades of perspective bridging startup scrappiness and tech-giant scale, Dick will share lessons that resonate deeply in today’s AI-first wave.

⚡️ Agenda

18h25 Arrival

Coffee, mingling, and getting in the vibe.

18h30 Fireside Chat w/ Dick Hardt

We’ll explore:

- Tech Through the Ages: from the early internet and ActiveState to the identity revolution and Big Tech.

- Portugal’s Place in Tech: why he chose Lisbon, and how founders here can build global-first companies.

- AI & Startups: how AI is lowering barriers to entry, and what it means for founders’ roles.

- Identity in the AI Era: why trust and verification matter even more when AI is creating and acting for us.

19h00 Live Showcase

Inspired by vibe coding tools (VS Code, Cursor, and Kiro), we’ll demo how even non-technical founders can prototype AI workflows fast — a live taste of building like “NLP programmers.”

19h20 Q&A + Networking Break

☕️ Join an open conversation with Dick and the community — a chance to get personal insights and swap ideas.
