If you do not yet own Bitcoin and need some guidance on where to start, this event is for you — **you will walk away a Bitcoiner!**
You will also walk away with a clear understanding of:
* How to buy Bitcoin (exchanges, ATMs, etc)
* Where to buy Bitcoin (online, in-person)
* How to store Bitcoin (hot vs cold wallets)
* What self-custody means, why it’s so important, and how to do it
* How to send and receive Bitcoin
**The main goal of this workshop is for you to walk away a Bitcoiner!** I am excited to offer this hands-on workshop where you will experience Bitcoin in action. It will be a testament to how easy it actually is to become part of this network of monetary sovereignty and financial independence.
While our meetup events don’t usually have specific rules or requirements, this one does for obvious reasons.
**Please be sure to follow these rules before signing up:**
* **Non-Bitcoiners Only:** This event is specifically to onboard non-Bitcoiners but please come and hangout with us after the even when French Fries Factory opens at 12pm if you already own Bitcoin! No need to RSVP, just come to the restaurant when it opens and we will be there ✨ Your presence is incredibly valuable and can help solidify the group’s understanding of Bitcoin by sharing your knowledge and resources :)
* **Must have attended a previous event:** This event is for those who attended one of the “[Bitcoin: A Paradigm Shift](https://www.meetup.com/deep-thinkers-porto/events/304708317/)” presentations where we learned about what Bitcoin is. It is vital you understand what you are receiving and you must have attended the first or second edition of that event to participate, thanks for understanding 🙏🏼
* **Limited Spots:** Since the spots are limited, please be respectful and do not take someone else’s place if you will not show up. Only sign up if you are sure you can come to the event. Get on the wait list if you are interested and the spots are full ⚡️
**💰 Cost:** Free! ✨
**📝 What to Bring:** A smartphone. Some cash if you would like to try out the Bitcoin ATM (not mandatory). A way to take notes.
**🔊 Language:** While Portuguese speakers will be present, the presentation and guided interactions will be in English.
**🏠 Venue:** This event is taking place at French Fries Factory. Jan, the owner, organizes the [BTC Norte Meetups](https://www.meetup.com/btc-norte/). The restaurant accepts Bitcoin and there is a Bitcoin ATM on location which will make the workshop even more hands-on for those who would like to give it a try.
**☕️ Food/Drinks:** We are generously being offering the space for free so be sure to support French Fries Factory by purchasing something to eat or drink during or after the event. You can get a drink when you arrive and/or stick around for lunch when the restaurant opens at 12pm if you would like.
