About this event

Join us for a deep dive into how blockchain and carbon strategies can drive innovation and sustainability! On November 6th, Prof. Marin Jovanovic will visit the Nova SBE campus to lead a seminar on Platform Governance in Industrial Markets. Dr. Marin Jovanovic, Associate Professor at Copenhagen Business School and Visiting Scholar at Luleå University of Technology, holds dual Ph.D. degrees from KTH Royal Institute of Technology and Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. His research, featured in top journals like Organization Science and Journal of Product Innovation Management, focuses on the digital transformation of manufacturing, maritime, and healthcare sectors, platform ecosystems, and AI in business-to-business contexts.

The seminar, named “Platform Governance in Industrial Markets: Driving Innovation and Sustainability with Blockchain and Carbon Strategies”, explores the critical intersection of platform governance, blockchain technology, and the voluntary carbon market within B2B ecosystems. By examining industrial digital platforms as meta-organizations, we delve into how their unique design and governance models differ from B2C platforms (e.g., B2B platform play).

We will analyze the TradeLens blockchain platform as a case study to understand the transformative impact of blockchain on platform ecosystems (e.g., blockchain platform play). Additionally, we’ll investigate corporate strategies in the voluntary carbon market for engineered carbon dioxide removal (ECDR), highlighting how platforms can both facilitate and participate in sustainable market creation with its unique dynamics (e.g., platform carbon play). It aims to provide both academic insights and practical guidance for businesses looking to leverage platform architecture and governance to drive innovation and environmental sustainability.

The seminar will also have a discussion panel between Prof. Marin Jovanovic and Celfocus to address the opportunities and challenges of implementing blockchain-based carbon strategies.

Register now and join us on November 6th in Room B137!
