Join us for an wonderful evening at the theatre where international speakers will discuss topics such as designing a platform to speed up diagnoses, creating digital humans from standard photos, and designing for good.

Kota Kobayashi

Principal Designer at Wise

Kota leads the design practice at Wise in London. Before moving to London, he lived and worked in New York City where he gained a multitude of design experiences. His works at the intersection of brand, product, and technology. He aims to bring useful and delightful experiences to all products that he touches.

Talk: Designing for good

“What is good design?” has been the biggest question for the last 15 years. I’ve arrived at one simple answer – it’s a good design if it is for good. This perspective changed how I navigate my career. Follow the journey to discovering my essence as a designer.

Alexis Roche

Head of Artificial Intelligence at Didimo

Alexis Roche, PhD, currently leads the Artificial Intelligence team at Didimo Inc. A graduate engineer from Ecole Centrale Paris, he prepared his PhD at INRIA Sophia Anitpolis, France, and has over 20 years post-doctoral experience in research and development in the fields of Computer Vision and Artificial Intelligence. His career took him to several leading technology institutes in Europe, including University of Oxford (UK), CEA Saclay (France), ETH Zurich, EPF Lausanne and Siemens Healthineers (Switzerland), before joining Didimo in 2019.

Talk: On the automatic creation of digital humans

In this talk I’ll cover different technical aspects of digital human creation from standard photos, from low-level image processing to facial 3D shape and texture reconstruction and model animation. I’ll discuss how AI can be used to automate such a pipeline and significantly speed up 3D Artist work.
