Portugal is also a growing Tech Nation and source of IT Professionals for North American (and other countries) companies, for both remote staffing of individual contributors or entire teams. A lot of factors contribute to this state of affairs.
Tech Professionals in Portugal are progressively looking to work remotely across borders for great companies in North America, given the better salaries and challenges.
The percentage of Portuguese IT professionals working remotely across borders grew from a staggering 18.4% in 2022 to 22.4% in 2023, keeping a growing trend.
Regarding talent costs, and for a quick notion, Fullstack Developers with 3-6 years of experience in PT have an average Gross Annual Salary of 30,976€. The math behind all this is fairly easy. But does not explain it all.
