They are now exploring advanced techniques like data analytics and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to assist with compliance and provide support for frequently encountered inquiries. Although data analytics has been heavily discussed, the use of Artificial Intelligence in tax is still relatively new.

Niklas J.R.M. Schmidt
He is one of Austria’s leading international tax lawyers, with a strong focus on private clients and wealth.
The tax group that he have been heading for many years at WOLF THEISS has in the past been ranked as #1 in Chambers, Legal 500, Who’s Who Legal, International Tax Review, Practical Law, JUVE and other media.
He is a member of IBA, ABA, IFA, STEP, ITPA and ITSG.
He have written a few books and dozens of articles, and have held more than 300 speeches.
His last German book was on crypto/blockchains and is bestselling in the Austrian legal market.
He recently co-edited a 700+ page book covering crypto taxation in nearly 40 countries.
He’s specialties include international tax, private clients, foundations/trusts and crypto assets/blockchains.
He have done studies in Vienna, Munich, Barcelona and Oxford.

Derren is an International Tax Advisory who has successfully completed the Comparative Tax Program at Harvard University and is an EA (Enrolled Agent).
As an EA, he has been admitted to practice before the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to represent taxpayers in all 50 states and internationally.
He has 2 Masters Degrees in Economics and a Certified Diploma from the ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants in the UK).
Derren is a member of the Briefing Group advising The Rt. Hon. The Lord Mayor of the City of London on current and emerging international tax issues.
Derren enjoys writing and has published 3 books on taxation, one of which was an Amazon Best Seller in 2020. Derren has given seminars on tax matters in the US, Europe, the Caribbean and across Asia.
